Residents express concern regarding road maintenance in Baughurst

Baughurst; Traffic Matters has been copied in on two recent letters written by concerned residents.

Michael Walford of Pound Green and Vanessa Hurran of Baughurst Road recently wrote to express their concerns.

Vanessa Hurran of Baughurst Road recently wrote to Hampshire Highways expressing concern regarding the extensive erosion of the roadside verge which runs the length of her property. Verge erosion has made it very difficult to egress from her driveway safely. Vanessa’s driveway and garden has suffered from major flooding of late, the flooding is as a result of the fact that the ditch along the property has just disappeared over the years as a result of traffic volumes which has pushed the verge into the ditch.

Michael Walford of Pound Green copied to us a letter he has recently sent to the Parish Council pointing out a number off issues regarding the lack of highway maintenance of verges, roadside ditches and drain channels which are cussing flooding and damage. Flooding is of course a big concern in the recent frosty and wet conditions.

You can use the below link to report highways damage and any highways concerns direct to the Road Maintenance Team at HCC and I can tell you that from experience their monitoring and response to reports placed online is excellent.
